NPT THREADS are used in general purpose application of pipe assembly, where a pressure tight joint of pipes is made, by making the pipes wrench tight using a sealing compound.

Specification: 
ANSI/ ASME B1.20.1 - 1983 for Basic Type Gauges & American Handbook H-28 Part II - 1957 for Step Limit type. 

NPTF THREADS can provide pressure tight seal on threads without use of a sealing compunt (Dry Seal Type). They are used in pipe assemblies where without using sealing compound pressure tight joint is required on threads.

PTF Threads are similar to NPTF but short in length. PTF threads are used in applications similar to NPTF.

Specification: 
ANSI/ ASME B1.20.6 - 1984 which is Metric translation of ANSI B1.20.5-1978 &  American Handbook H-28 Part II - 1957. 

BSPT Threads can provide pressure tight seal on threads without use of a sealing compound.  They are used in pipe assemblies where pressure tight joint is required on threads, without use of sealing compound.

Two Types of Gauges are recommended System A & System B.

Specification: BS 21 - 1985  
Indian Standard:  Basic Dimensions - IS 554 - 1975 & Gauging Practice - IS 8999-1979. 

R / Pipe Threads are used in pipe assemblies where pressure tight joint is required on threads, without use of sealing compound.

Specification:
ISO Standard:       Basic Dimensions: ISO 7/1-1994 & Gauging Practice: ISO 7/2-2000,,
BS & European standard:  BS EN 10226-3 - 2005
Indian Standard:  Basic Dimensions:  IS 554 - 1999 & Gauging Practice: IS 8999-2003.

Valve Fittings other than LPG are used to check valves of containers/ cylinder used for conveyance of permanant, Liquefiable & dissolved Gases  up to working pressure 400 bar, Valves of breathing apparatus & fire extinguishers.

BS 341 Part 1 - 1991  (Gauges as per old BS 341-1962 are manufactured on request)
DIN 477- 1984 

NGT (National Gas Taper) Threads are used to check Gas cylinder valve stems and cylindrical neck threads.
(Taper 1 IN 16 on diameter)
