ดายเกลียวนอก (Thread round Die) เป็นเครื่องมือที่ใช้สำหรับสร้างเกลียวนอก (เกลียวตัวผู้) บนวัสดุต่างๆ เช่น เหล็ก, ทองแดง, หรืออะลูมิเนียม. ดายมีลักษณะเป็นวงกลม มีรูเจาะเป็นดอกจิกและมีคมตัดภายใน. คมตัดเหล่านี้จะทำการตัดเกลียวบนชิ้นงานเมื่อหมุนดายเข้าไปในเนื้อวัสดุ.

วิธีการใช้งานดายเกลียวนอก:
1. เตรียมชิ้นงาน:
เตรียมชิ้นงานให้มีรูนำศูนย์ที่เหมาะสมกับขนาดของดาย.
2. ใส่ดายลงในประแจ:
ใส่ดายลงในประแจและยึดให้แน่น.
3. หมุนดาย:
หมุนดายเข้าไปในชิ้นงานอย่างช้าๆ และสม่ำเสมอ เพื่อให้คมตัดของดายตัดเกลียวบนเนื้อวัสดุ.
4. ปรับแรงกด:
ปรับแรงกดตามความจำเป็น เพื่อให้ได้เกลียวที่มีคุณภาพตามต้องการ.
5. ดายเกลียว:
เมื่อเกลียวถูกตัดเสร็จแล้ว ดึงดายออกจากชิ้นงาน.

Main Functions of Thread Dies:
Creating external threads:
Thread Dies are used to create threads on cylindrical objects such as bolts, sleeves, or other parts that require external threads.
Cutting threads on materials:
The internal cutting edges of the die cut or groove into the material to create threads of the desired size and shape.
Adjusting the size and shape of the thread:
The size and shape of the thread can be adjusted as desired by selecting a die that is appropriate for the size and type of thread desired.
Using with a wrench:
The external thread die is held in place with a wrench that is specifically designed for use with the die.
How to use an external thread die:
1. Prepare the workpiece:
Prepare the workpiece with a center hole that is appropriate for the size of the die.
2. Insert die into wrench:
Insert die into wrench and tighten.
3. Rotate die:
Slowly and steadily rotate die into workpiece so that the cutting edge of die cuts threads into material.
4. Adjust pressure:
Adjust pressure as needed to obtain the desired thread quality.
5. Thread die:
Once threads are cut, pull die out of workpiece.
Example of application:
Creating threads on bolts to fasten parts.
Creating threads on pumps, pipes, or other equipment that requires external threads.
